The color is bright, and it is really a cute cover, just what you would expect from Kate Spade. Once you attach your kindle and open the cover to read, the back center bulges up as if it has air in it. I hate to harp about cost, but this is the most expensive cover on the market, and it does not even have binding to prevent this. Maybe this is something that will even out with time. The cover itself does not hold the kindle as firmly as it should, so when you close it, the kindle has a tendency to flap, and create a gap between the back cover and the kindle. This is a great way to break your kindle, by snapping it off of its hinges. Another flaw is that once you attach your knidle, it is extremly difficult to unhinge, almost impossible. I have another kindle cover that has hinges, it is super easy to unhinge, is plain, but it works, and keeps my kindle safe & secure. It's super bright & shiny and it looks exactly like it does in the pictures. I made sure I used my new cover for several days before reviewing it in order to give a review based on function and not just cuteness. The first time I attached my Kindle to the clips it was difficult to unattach, however I realized that I had not pushed the bottom clip into the Kindle as far as it would go. After I discovered that was the problem it has been easy to attach and unattach. I personally like to read my Kindle with the cover open like a real book but I did test folding the cover back for those of you who prefer to read that way. If you are a folder, this is probably not the cover for you, it does not bend easily and the leather does bubble up on the spine when bent backward. This is not an issue to me whatsoever. After researching many cases and reading many reviews on different cases, I decided to buy the Kate Spade case in Pink. When I received the case I thought this is the one. The problem I have is this...the inside of the front cover where the pockets are has caused a Rub mark on the front of my Kindle. At first I thought something was on the screen of my kindle, so I tried to wipe it off and it does not wipe off. This rub mark is right where the pocket would be when you close the case. You can not see the rub mark when the kindle is on, but when the kindle has a blank screen you can see the rub mark.
